With rumors about the Princess of Wales’ well-being spiraling out of control amid the uproar over her photoshopping debacle, Meghan Markle is attempting to offer her estranged sister-in-law support, one insider says.
“Scandals of the Royal Palaces” author Tom Quinn told the Mirror that the Duchess of Sussex has reached out to Kensington Palace several times via back channels in an effort to connect with Kate Middleton, whose recovery from serious abdominal surgery has sparked wild rumors about her whereabouts.
“She is genuinely worried about Kate’s health,” Quinn claimed.
Markle and her husband Prince Harry haven’t been on speaking terms with Kate and her spouse Prince William since they moved to Montecito, Calif. in 2020.
However, it’s unlikely Kate is in a state to start reconciliation talks, another insider asserts.

“I don’t think Kate would ever consider Meghan — who spent such a very short time in the royal fold — as an appropriate or qualified person to give her advice or support,” royal expert Jennie Bond told OK!.
“This is a time for Kate to concentrate on regaining her strength, physically and mentally, and I don’t imagine she would welcome tackling the family rift right now,” she added.
But Bond noted that should the former actress send “flowers’ or “goodies” to the princess to “cheer her up,” then the “gesture would be politely accepted.”
Quinn concurs, claiming Kate would likely politely accept Markle’s “olive branches” as she would not want to be seen “rebuffing these overtures.”
But it would be unlikely to lead to a real reconciliation between the pair or their feuding husbands.
“The feeling in Kensington Palace is that if Meghan’s attempts to extend an olive branch are welcomed, it will just re-open old wounds,” Quinn said.
Kate hasn’t been seen in the public eye since Christmas 2023 — except for a few blurry photos of her traveling in cars.
The future queen is skipping the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade on Sunday at Mons Barracks in Aldershot, England, an event that she attends every year.
The princess became the honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards last year following the death of Queen Elizabeth.
