Here's how much the Diablo 4 seasonal Battle Pass will cost, how long it will last, and a note about Premium currency.
First Published August 15, 2023, 06:42
On 6 June 2023 (2 June for those with Early Access), Diablo 4 was unleashed as Lilith returns to Sanctuary on PC and consoles. The latest entry in the iconic ARPG franchise from Blizzard is, of course, not a free-to-play title. Despite this fact, there is a Diablo 4 Battle Pass featuring both free and Premium tracks, with the latter having a real money cost attached.
This article explains the cost of Diablo 4's seasonal Battle Passes, and explores if you could purchase one with Premium currency, so let's get started.
Update on 15 August 2023: We've updated this article with the latest Diablo 4 Battle Pass info, from price to the Premium version and more. Learn more about the Diablo 4 Battle Pass differences.
Diablo 4 Premium Battle Pass Price
There's both a free track and a Premium track for Diablo 4's seasonal Battle Pass. The free track is, of course, free for everyone who owns the game and will remain so each season. For the Premium Battle Pass track in Diablo 4, the price has been confirmed at $10.
Blizzard explains the Free and Premium Tiers of the Diablo 4 Battle Pass:
Throughout the pass players can earn a variety of rewards for free, just by playing. At any point during the Season, players can purchase the Premium Pass to unlock the ability to earn Premium rewards tiers containing seasonally themed Cosmetics and Premium Currency.
There is no pay-to-win here, as it all focuses on cosmetic items and seasonal-themed items, emotes, and more. Seasonal character boosts can't be unlocked faster by purchasing Battle Pass tiers either, as they are locked behind the player level.
Certain cosmetic types are exclusive to the Battle Pass. Remember, the Digital Deluxe Edition of Diablo 4 includes the Season 1 Battle Pass, and the Ultimate Edition includes the Battle Pass alongside 20 Tier Skips.
How Long Does a Diablo 4 Battle Pass Last?
You will have plenty of time to complete tasks while playing Diablo 4 and finish up all the Tiers of the Battle Pass. Seasons in Diablo 4 will last roughly three (3) months, and each season will only feature one Battle Pass.
It is estimated that completing all the Tiers in the Battle Pass will take roughly 70 to 75 hours. While any play style can progress through the Battle Pass, min-maxers can focus on Season Journey objectives to advance more quickly.
Purchase Diablo 4 Battle Pass With Premium Currency?
One thing you might have noticed is that Blizzard has mentioned a Premium currency in Diablo 4, which allows players to purchase Cosmetics from the Item Shop. The Premium Battle Pass tiers in Diablo 4 will unlock Premium currency at a certain point.
In Fortnite, for example, you can earn a lot of V-Bucks with the Premium Tiers of their Battle Pass and purchase a new season's BP with the V-Bucks earned. At the time of writing, however, it has not been confirmed how much Premium currency you can unlock per season of Diablo 4 and if you can use the said currency to purchase the next season's Battle Pass.
