Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee is currently married to Brittany Furlan, but she readily admits that another woman was the love of his life. In a new interview with People, Furlan, a comedian who came to fame on social media platform Vine, talked about being married to Lee and bonding with his ex-wife Heather Locklear, who she says is the one who got away for her husband. She also shared that she has become close with Locklear, who she calls a "cool chick."

Read on to find out more about Furlan and Locklear's relationship, as well as Furlan's more strained relationship with one of Lee's other famous exes.

Furlan is Lee's fourth wife. The 60-year-old musician was previously married to Elaine Starchuk from 1984 to 1985, Locklear from 1986 to 1993, and Pamela Anderson from 1995 to 1998. Lee and Anderson share two children: 27-year-old Brandon Lee and 25-year-old Dylan Lee.

Lee and Furlan married in 2019. She announced the news by posting a photo of her two dogs wearing a wedding dress and a tuxedo on Instagram. "It's official!!!! We're married!!!" she wrote in the caption. "MR & MRS LEE YAHOOOOOOOO."

In her People interview, Furlan noted that Lee called Locklear "the one that got away" in Mötley Crüe's 2001 book The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band, which was adapted into a 2019 movie.

"She was the love of his life," Furlan said. "I see it, because she's just a fun, sweet, caring, awesome person. Tommy even says he messed up in that relationship. He cheated on her. To this day, that's why they're still really good friends."

Furlan said that she and Locklear, 61, are "very close."

"She's awesome, I love her," Furlan said. "I think she's the most kind, down-to-earth person. We met through Tommy, obviously, and became close. She's just very cool, very nice, just supportive and just a cool chick all around." She continued, "She tells me funny stories. Everyone glorifies his relationship with Pam, but he was married to Heather for [nearly] eight years!"

The 36-year-old said that she can't get over the fact that Lee cheated on the Melrose Place actor. "I yell at my husband, I'm like, 'I can't believe you cheated on her. She's so cool,'" Furlan said.

But, she added of her husband's infidelity, "That was a different time. He was 25 years old, 26 years old. Not to make excuses, but he's a very different man now from all those years ago. You live and you learn."

In 2016, Locklear posted on Instagram about the 30th anniversary of her wedding to Lee. "Happy 30 years baby," she wrote next to a photo of herself and Lee kissing. She also shared a picture from their wedding.

Lee hasn't shared much about his relationship with Locklear publicly in recent years, but he did speak out after Howard Stern brought up reports regarding Locklear's mental health on his show in 2018. "You know what drove this woman crazy?… She was married to Tommy Lee and Richie Sambora… they made her [expletive] insane," he said, as reported by Page Six.

Lee responded on Twitter, "@HowardStern Queen of media! How dare you blame me for Heather's recent troubles! That was like 24 years ago you idiot! #cowardsterntimewarp you should be wishing her well and not bashing me [expletive]!!! Wtf is wrong with you? I normally don't respond to this stuff.. [expletive] BS!!"

While Furlan and Locklear have a friendly relationship, the same can't be said for her and Anderson. The two have made headlines for bashing each other.

In 2018, Anderson published a letter regarding a physical altercation that took place between Lee and Brandon. As reported by People, in the letter she called Lee "a disaster spinning out of control" and wrote that Furlan "keeps him drunk—this is what he wants—someone to behave badly with."

More recently, in February 2023, Furlan posted a TikTok video in which she joked that Anderson wouldn't care if she died.

"Oh my God, that was so stupid," Furlan told People of the video in early June. "I was literally saying if I died and then all these people were like, 'Oh my God, you're talking about if she died, how you would think it's funny.' I'm like, 'What are you talking about?'"

Furlan continued of Anderson to People, "In the beginning, people were like, 'Oh, she's always been so nice about you,' but they don't know what goes on behind closed doors. I'm the one that got my husband sober and has helped him stay sober. In the beginning of us dating, [Anderson] did a public journal saying that I was the one that kept him drunk, which was so wrong and so awful. I just won't forget that … Then now she's like, 'Oh, I'm so happy for them.' But that's to the public. I don't really… I don't know."

As for Anderson, she said on The Howard Stern Show in January that she knew it was hard for Furlan to have her marriage to Lee in the news again thanks to her book, Love, Pamela, and her Netflix documentary, Pamela, a love story. "He's married and happy, and she's good to him and I totally support that and think that's great," the Baywatch star said. "I hate to be annoying and going through this again. I'm quite sure she's annoyed, but I respect their relationship, and just glad he's happy and he has somebody in his life."
