Essential Functions:
1) With accountability to VP/Chief Marketing, Communications & Customer Officer, responsible for implementation of state-wide public affairs programs, as well as development and implementation of local programs that promote and protect Renown’s brand.
2) Support Area and regional business plan objectives by creating open communication and favorable partnerships with local community leaders and organizations.
3) Work with Renown’s media relations team to support the brand and overall communication goals.
4) In partnership with Renown leaders, participates in the development, preparation, and implementation of annual community health goals.
5) Responsible for communicating organizational messages to key audiences.
6) Work with regional community and government relations officers to implement the strategy, including coordination of communication with policymakers and providing input on Renown’s positions.
7) Develop and implement a comprehensive community relations strategy and program which includes continuing successful on-going efforts and develops other proactive policies related to improving the health of the communities served, in support of the ACA and Healthy People 2030.
8) Act as an in-house Community Health & Relations consultant to CEO, C-Suite executives, and internal departments. Select, facilitate, and document work of the Community Advisory Council with CEO, Chief Customer Officer, and Board of Directors.
9) Implement Community Health Risk Assessment (CHNA) every 3 years in conjunction with community and health system leaders. Produce CHNA document. Identify health priorities and produce 3 Year Implementation & Action Plan to improve the health of the community.
10) Recommend, develop, and direct Renown's involvement in community relations projects to support Renown’s strategic plan, community health, government, and community relations objectives. Identify, evaluate, and recommend qualified non-profit organizations (over 150) for Renown Community Benefits funds and grants programs. Document financial Community Benefit contributions, accounting for IRS Form 990 Schedule H Activities with Finance, Government Relations and others for tax documents, grants, Renown Foundation, and annual reports.
11) Collaborate with other community organization officers to enhance our community relations activities and strengthen our influence and visibility in the community. Establish and maintain relationships with strategic community leaders, including directors of public health agencies and organizations, charitable organizations, school administrators, business and health care industry executives, community planning group members, etc. Educate and influence community leaders by demonstrating Renown's value and commitment to the communities we serve.
12) Conceive and design special events to achieve specific community relations goals.
13) Serve on community health care and other local task forces, committees, and planning groups as a representative of Renown. Recommend Renown executives for board service.
14) Stay current on best practice state and national Community Benefit, population health, social responsibility, and grant-making programs.
15) Responsible for the recruitment, supervision, management, support and quality assurance for Community Benefit staff and contractors, and the overall budget and accounting for all Community Health & Relations activities.
